This is too steamy to make up or even comment on, so I'll just give you the appropriate links:

Read and judge for yourself.  The Republican right-wing hypocrisy just keeps on coming. For those of you who want all the juicy details, read the police report.

Once again, I'm left wondering... (5.00 / 1) (#1)
by Religious Institute on Tue Aug 28, 2007 at 11:50:38 AM EST
"What was he thinking?" And in what twin universe could this be moral behavior? And, how must his wife and children be feeling? And what kind of internalized self loathing and cultural homophobia drives someone in his position to take this kind of risk rather than seeking a mature, ethical sexual relationship with someone of the same sex?

And no surprise, when I looked up his voting record at HRC this morning, Senator Craig has voted for anti-gay measures, most recently in 2006 for the Federal Marriage Amendment. Maybe we can count on him now for YES votes on ENDA and Hate Crimes Legislation. He did resign yesterday as chairman of Mitt Romney's presidential campaign in Idaho.

In a world where sexual difference was affirmed, maybe these incidents wouldn't happen.

Republican sexual hypocrisy... (5.00 / 1) (#2)

apparently knows no boundaries.  I couldn't make this stuff up.

What does drive someone who's so sanctimonious and self-righteous to go over the edge.  The sexual repression and self loathing must me terrible to endure.

But, probably like Vitter, Foley, et. al. he'll get a pass from his Republican buddies.  If he were a Democrat, they'd be stringing him up by the you-know-whats.

I don't think Craig will get that pass (5.00 / 1) (#3)

The difference is that Vitter and Foley gave the party captains a storm warning so that they could be prepared for the media squall -- by covering Foley with an abuse story and a quick admission to rehab, and Vitter with a "Jesus and my wife have forgiven me" presser, featuring his forgiving wifey standing by her man (in leopard print knit ;-).

Craig tried to pull a Ted Haggard on them, and he'll be sorry.
